FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Cavalor North America Announces Sponsorship of Caitlin Silliman

(Dalton, GA) May 14, 2015 – Cavalor North America is excited to announce its partnership with international event rider, Caitlin Silliman.

Caitlin’s dedication to her horses’ nutrition, well-being and care coupled with her passion for the sport of eventing makes her a perfect fit for the team and Cavalor is proud to have Caitlin represent the brand.

“As a top level eventer, I’ve been feeding horses for a long time and I’ve worked for barns for seven years,” Caitlin said. “I’ve only just started with Cavalor, but I already feel more educated about horses’ diets and nutrition. I feel now when people ask me what I’m feeding I can help educate them and help them get back on track with their program. I’m really looking forward to building my relationship with Cavalor.”

Perhaps Caitlin is most excited to see what this partnership can do to help her four star mare, Catch a Star (“Hoku”), get back on track with her feeding program.

“I think my horses are going to be in way better shape,” Caitlin said. “With Hoku’s small injury after Rolex Kentucky, and hoping to have her back for Rolex Kentucky next year, now is the time to get her digestion and hindgut working properly. This has been the silver lining of Hoku’s injury; she’s going to be in the best form she’s ever been come next spring, so I’m really excited about that.”

Caitlin first started feeding Hoku Cavalor® FiberForce. Usually when Caitlin introduces Hoku to a new grain it takes her a couple days to get used to it and won’t finish a meal. Caitlin explains she’s very picky about her food.

“With the Cavalor® FiberForce I thought for sure she would totally turn her nose up at it. I’d been show jumping with Michael Walton and spoke with his barn manager, Taryn Nolte, and she told me how Cavalor® FiberForce had helped her horse a lot. This was the first grain Hoku finished a full 2 quart scoop of after feeding. She finished it right off which totally sealed the deal,” Caitlin said.

Partnering with Cavalor has gotten Caitlin through the upset of Hoku being injured because she has something to focus on with her. She’s already put on so much weight and this has Caitlin really looking forward to the next spring season. However, Hoku’s break in work has allowed Caitlin more time to focus on her youngster.

“With my young horse, taking him out of Will Coleman’s barn and changing his grain from Cavalor to a different brand was like changing him from your parents’ home cooked meals to eating frozen dinners. He’s a good eater but I saw a huge change in his coat, so I’m excited to get him back on the feed,” Caitlin said.

Both Hoku and Caitlin have been through a lot together, and Cavalor is excited to help this pair reach new heights in their partnership and career along with supporting those youngsters that come up through the Silliman Eventing program.
